Lorraine Mazzola July 23, 1963 - Sept. 16, 2015 Lorraine Mazzola passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. A gathering of family and friends will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Westfield, followed immediately by burial at the Fairview Cemetery. Lorraine Mazzola was born on July 23, 1963, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Charles and Theresa Scibetti. She was raised in Staten Island, N.Y., and graduated from NYU. After graduation, Lorraine pursued a career in acting. She loved to perform onstage and eventually moved to Los Angeles to focus on TV and film. Her first film role, "Men Lie," brought her back to New York to film a scene with her future husband, Jeff Mazzola. Jeff and Lorraine married in May of 1997 and continued to build their life together in Manhattan, N.Y. After starting their family and moving to Westfield, Lorraine kept a strong connection to Manhattan through the arts and theater. She was a "city girl" to the core. Lorraine selflessly spent countless hours directing, choreographing, and presenting plays and talent shows in the Westfield public schools. She never missed an opportunity to lend a hand, volunteer for community functions, and spend time with loved ones. She was a devoted wife and mother and her son, Julian, and daughter, Olivia, were the highlights of her life. Lorraine was an affectionate daughter and sister, loving granddaughter, and niece. She was a cherished aunt, cousin, and sister-in-law. She was a true friend to countless many.
