Randall Harman Obituary

Randall Lee Harman, age 67, passed away on Aug. 7, 2017, at his home in Wasilla, Alaska.
Randall was born on May 31, 1950, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Delbert and Estella (Mosman) Harman.
He moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1970, and eventually moved to Wasilla, in 1997.
Randall built his own company, Harman Excavating, and later Harman Homes, which he was dedicated to until he retired to Florida, in 2014.
The family wrote: "Randy sometimes came across as rough around the edges, but everyone that knew him - knew what a big heart he had. Everything he did was for his family. He will always be missed."
Randall is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Harman; and his brother, Greg Harman.
He is survived by his mother, Stella Harman; brother, Jerry Harman; sisters, Marilyn DeFord and Lori Herbert; and brothers, Gordon Harman, Fred Harman, Don Harman, Ed Harman and David Harman; his sons, Ryan Harman (daughter-in-law, Adair Harman) and Brandon Harman; grandson, Gabe Harman; and granddaughter, Avery Harman. He is survived by countless other extended family members.
Memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Holy Spirit Retreat Center "Resurrection Chapel": 10980 Hillside Drive, Anchorage, AK 99507. Father Luz Flores will be officiating.

I worked with Randy and Ryan, back in the 2005-2007 period, as we continued developing Centerpoint Subdivision together. These men were a genuine pleasure to know. Randy had shared with me a near death experience (NDE) he had as a younger man, owing to a cave-in at a production site. From that experience he was entirely comfortable with death. I´m only sorry I didn´t get to visit with Randy again before he left his body; but, having had an NDE myself I am confident of `seeing´ him again nevertheless. I would like to reconnect with Ryan, and see what he´s been up to these many years later.

Please know that I am thinking of the Harman family. I have such great memories of growing up on the farm and spending time playing with the Harman "kids". Randy was always so kind to the "Schmidt girls".

We are sad to hear of his passing. I pray God will give peace and comfort to all the family.
We became friends working for his brother Jerry at Eastwind Inc back in 1975. Brings back a lot of memories in the construction business. Sandy and I will be praying for all the family.

What can one say in a guest book that would even begin to convey what I am feeling in my heart. Randy was always a very special friend first to my husband Stan and then myself. So much water went under that bridge and it is heartbreaking to hear of Randy's death so quickly. Randy checked in with me now and then after Stan died which really touched me. He was a special man and we will treasure the memories of all the fun times we spent with him and his family over the years when our boys were young...riding in the airboat, coming to the cabin, working together. I am very thankful for all the sweet memories!
