Joyce Ann "Jody" Harper

1961 - 2015

Joyce "Jody" Ann Harper, 54, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs. A resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Ms. Harper passed away following a brief illness.
She was born on April 25, 1961 in Flagler, Colorado, the daughter of Richard Dale Ingersoll and Joyce Marie Leach.
Ms. Harper attended schools in Colorado and Wyoming and graduated from Woodlin High School with the Class of 1980.
She married Robert Harper in Rock Springs, Wyoming on February 22, 1986 and they later divorced.
Ms. Harper worked at Taco John's for two years.
She taught Sunday school for her church and was a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her parents Alan and Joyce Saari of Painesdale, Michigan; one son, Daniel Harper of Laramie, Wyoming; two daughters, Summer Harper of Mesa, Arizona and Leslie Hower and husband, Mark, of Rock Springs, Wyoming; four brothers, Tim Sewell and wife, Mandy, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Barry Ingersoll of Rawlins, Wyoming, Ronald Sewell of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dwayne Sewell of Rice, Minnesota; two sisters, Betty Morrison of Green River, Wyoming and Dayla Ingersoll of Spokane Valley, Washington; seven grandchildren, Daniel Duran, Michelle Harper, Kenzie Allen, Eddie Hower, Amaia Hower, Leighanne Harper and Urijah Harper and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by Richard and Betty Ingersoll, Sr., Richard Ingersoll, Jr. and R.B. and Ella Leach.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Reverend Kay Grice was conducted at the services. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
