Ronald Burch

1934 - 2018

Born on April 15, 1934 Ronald Burch passed away on May 2, 2018. He will be remembered by those around him for his fun and loving spirit and a story teller extraordinaire. The son of John and Nora Burch, Ron was born in Mangum, Oklahoma. He grew up in Clovis, New Mexico where he graduated from High School with his sweetheart Gloria Haynes in 1952. In 1954, he and Gloria married and began a journey of adventure and love together.
Ron's professional career, as a Manager, took him from Alamogordo to Arizona, Minnesota, California, Hawaii, Colorado and back to Alamogordo again. Retiring from DynCorp, as a Manager, in 1990 he became the founder and CEO of Pyramid Services Inc. in 1991 until his second retirement in 1996. He continued to serve on the Board of Directors of Pyramid Services until 2006.
Ron believed in giving back to his community as is evidenced by his membership and participation in: Rotary Club of Kauai, High Rolls and Alamogordo Lions Club, Elks Club, Tularosa Basin Historical Society, Chair of the Otero County Democratic Party, Board of Directors of The Opportunity Center, President of the Heights Elementary PTA, and served with distinction as a ROMEO (Really Old Men Eating Out).
Interests included gardening, traveling, keeping up with the grandchildren, and playing those really high stakes poker games, mostly pride was at stake!
He is survived by wife Gloria, children David Burch and his wife Pam Burch, Laura Wilson and her husband James Wilson, Grandchildren Rachel Burch, Corinne Burch, Joshua Bregler, Nicole Bregler, and Kyle Wilson, Great Grandchild Theo Edward Phaneuf-Bregler.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 2:00p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Alamogordo New Mexico. A reception hosted by P.E.O. Chapter AO will follow the service.
The family would like to thank the community for their love and support. We can never name all of those who supported Ron and Gloria, baked, cooked meals, visited and cared for both Ron and Gloria over the course of the last year (including a neighborhood that went above and beyond in doing the things that made their life better). Specifically we would like to thank; Dr. Aday, the nursing staff and care staff at GCMH, the staff at Betty Dare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Michelle and her in home care staff, staff and members of Grace United Methodist Church and the supportive care of Alamogordo Home Care and Hospice.
The family asks that any Donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in the name of Ron Burch.
The Burch family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services.
