Barbara McDonald Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Wooten McDonald, 83, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Dr. Joshua Posey officiating. The family visited with friends one hour prior to the funeral. Interment followed in the Leesburg Cemetery. Born December 14, 1939, in Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. McDonald was the daughter of the late Lonzo and Mary Brande Wooten. She was a GS-15 at The Marine Corps Logistics Base where she was a Computer Systems Analyst. She was very devoted to her job for many years. Mrs. McDonald was a second mother to many and was known to have a very strong personality. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and watching NASCAR. She was of the Christian faith and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Adleman; grandson, J.R.; and brother, Stephen Wooten. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Aubrey McDonald; children, Yvette Huffman and Mark of West Fork, AR, Melanie Garrett and John of Leesburg, and Ashley McDonald and Angela of Leesburg; brother, Clay Wooten of Pinhook, VA; 8 grandchildren, Miss Scarlett, John, Alan, Patti, A.J., James, Ashley, and Josh; and 14 great-grandchildren.
