Elizabeth Esparza-Romero Elizabeth earned her angel wings on September 9, 2022, at the age of 50, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She passed away after a valiant struggle with Kidney/Liver Disease. "Liz" was born on February 26, 1972, to Julian and Herminia Castaneda in Alice, Tx. They moved to Laredo, Tx where she lived a full, loving, family-filled upbringing as the oldest sister of six. She graduated from J.W. Nixon High School in 1990 and was a member of the Mighty Mustang Band. She played bassoon and trombone. Liz loved music all her life and loved dancing. She enjoyed life, family members and many friends. Liz was always there to brighten the lives of others. She lived most of her years in Laredo and eventually settled back in Alice. She is preceded in death by her beloved aunt Manuela Rodriguez whom she took care of. She is survived by her husband Alvaro Romero; her sons Julian Alexander (Leanna) Esparza, Joe Anthony Esparza, Jonathan Andrew Esparza, her granddaughter JaeLynn Alexis Esparza whom she loved dearly with all her heart; her parents Julian David and Herminia Castaneda; her siblings Mary Ann Castaneda, Julian David (Anna) Castaneda, Michael (Elizabeth) Castaneda, Erik (Esmeralda) Castaneda, Brian Lee (Mary) Castaneda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family. Family will receive friends and relatives at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday September 17th, 2022, at Rosas Funeral Home. A Chapel service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. that same afternoon. Services will conclude at the Funeral Home. Rosas Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
