1957 - 2018

SAN DIEGO - Ruben Lichtenberger Jr., 60, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born in Alice, Texas on September 16, 1957 to his parents, Ruben and Irma Lerma Lichtenberger. He was a 1976 graduate of San Diego High School where he loved playing for the Vaqueros as a quarterback. He was a quiet private person who enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his nieces, nephews and great nieces. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle who always put everyone and everything before himself and he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Lichtenberger Sr. and his brother-in-law, Javier Perez.

Ruben is survived by his mother, Irma L. Lichtenberger of San Diego, Texas; two sisters, Glenda L. Perez and Debbie L. Perez (Jose Angel "Blue") both of San Diego, Texas; two brothers, Ralph (Alma) Lichtenberger and Daniel Lichtenberger both of San Diego, Texas; numerous nieces , nephews , cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
