Joseph Bennett

Through time, our greatest test is living the life that God has set before us. Mr. Joseph 'Joe' Bennett was the epitome of dependability and a steadfast pillar in our family. He was called to his eternal rest on March 2, 2023. Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Stephney Lee Bennett and Mrs. Virginia Tindal Bennett, and his sister, Ms. Theola Bennett. Mr. Bennett was born in Manning, SC and was a graduate of Manning High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army and retired after twenty years of honorable service. After the military he served as a Federal Service Employee, retiring after twenty years. He has resided in Alexandria, AL since his retirement. He was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church, Manning, SC, and was baptized at an early age. His generosity was evident in his willingness to help others. He was an ardent supporter of the family and stood ready to assist in any way. Mr. Bennett leaves to cherish his memories a loving family: two brothers, Anthony Bennett, Manning, SC, and Isaac Bennett, Vandalia, MO; four sisters, Loretta (Leonard) Benbow, Manning, SC, Isabella (Henry) Bennett, Columbia, SC, Ida McDonald, Scottsdale, AZ, Catherine (Terry) Reynolds, Indianapolis, IN; one uncle, Pringle (Yvonne) Tindal, Baltimore, MD; one aunt, Magdalean Holladay, Kissimmee, FL; three nephews; two nieces; one grand nephew; four grand nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends. A service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:45 am. "The Lord is My Shepherd And He Leadeth Me Home."
