Shark River Hills - John Robert Greco, 10 years old, born December 22, 2010, at Monmouth Medical Center and residing in Shark River Hills tragically passed away on Saturday July 17, 2021. Son of Robert and Kristen Greco, brother to Luke and Cole, grandson to Albert and Susan Greco and Bill and Sandra Weag, nephew to Karen Greco, predeceased by his uncle and namesake John Albert Greco; Elizabeth Greco; Anita and Rick Rothery; Lisa and John Shpunder; cousins to Camryn and Kailie Rothery and Ashley and Alexis Shpunder. John leaves behind countless extended family and friends and an entire community that is hurting. John started his journey at Tender Care in Ocean Grove, attended Shark River Hills Elementary School through 3rd grade and recently finished 4th grade at St. Rose Grammar School. He was a natural athlete and excelled in all activities. He played every sport including baseball, basketball, flag football at Sea Girt, travel soccer on the Neptune Riptide, Shark River Hills Lacrosse and recently joined Team 91 NJ South travel lacrosse program. John's love of the outdoors was highlighted by his passion for surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Truly a versatile athlete ahead of his years. John's infectious smile, charm, and compassion for all, especially his brothers, will never be forgotten. He is a hero, and our world is brighter because of him. We will heal together to remember him. A visitation will be held at Ely Funeral Home on Thursday July 22, 2021 from 2pm-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Innocents Church in Neptune on Friday July 23, 2021 at 10am, followed by a burial at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Sea Girt.
