Rosanna Sanders

On Tuesday, the 23rd of August 2022, Rosanna Sanders of Yuba City passed away. She had just celebrated her 63rd birthday nine days earlier and was bravely battling breast cancer, but was taken by heart failure.

Rose was the loving daughter of Casto and Eleanor Reyes, sister to Gabe, Mario, Christina, David, and Abran, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She enlisted in the US Air Force in 1977, and served her country faithfully until her retirement as a Master Sergeant in 2001, earning many awards and citations including two Meritorious Service medals. Rose's desire to help others carried on when she began a second career as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Pediatric Emergency care at Sutter Memorial Hospital. Her entire life was about helping and caring for others.

Rose was also an avid gardener and pet mom. She delighted in baking and sharing the results with as many family and friends as she could. She also found time to be a living history docent, sharing her knowledge of American History with numerous children over the years.

Rose is survived by her adoring husband of 44 years, Michael; three beautiful daughters, Kati, Lauren and Becca; and was Nana to her wonderful grandsons, Logan and Jax. She was joyous beyond measure, quick-witted, funny, and stubborn. She was the cornerstone of strength and heart of her family, and above all a loving and unselfish soul who will be deeply missed. The world is better for her having been here.

Services will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 11am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, CA. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you donate to the breast cancer research or charity of your choice, or to plant something in her memory.
