BARBARA ANN ROBERTSON
Barbara Ann Robertson, 83, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Iris Memory Care Center in Oklahoma City. She was born on February 6, 1941, in Bell Creek, Oklahoma, to the late Lonny Floyd Bruster and Ada Bell Robinson Bruster. Barbara had a rich life filled with experiences across Western Oklahoma. She graduated from Madill High School in 1959 and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant.
On August 1, 1959, Barbara married Lemiel Archie (L. A.) Robertson in Madill, Oklahoma, and they shared many happy years until his passing on December 22, 1999. Barbara's dedication to education led her to a fulfilling career as a teacher at Madill Public Schools, where she taught for 30 years before retiring in 2004. After retirement, she settled in Midwest City, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Midwest City, finding solace and community there. She had a zest for life, enjoying farm work, immersing herself in books, and cherishing moments spent traveling. Above all, Barbara adored her family, finding immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her son, Jeff Robertson, and his wife Angela, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, along with her grandchildren: Jason Byford of Ardmore, Lonny Robertson and his wife Jana of Enid, Alisa Robertson of Madill, Audrey Johnson and her husband Jordan of Independence, Missouri, Archie Robertson of Oklahoma City, Holly Mercer and her husband John of Durant, Brandy Ayres and her husband Matt of Colorado, and Jennifer Wilcox and her husband Shane of Durant.
She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband L. A. Robertson, two sons, Greg Robertson and Bryce Taylor, and eight brothers and sisters.
During her life, Barbara touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. As she is laid to rest, may her memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 10:00 to 8:00, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma
The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Officiated by Mike Tignor. Interment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Oklahoma. Service will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to
