Beverly Lewis

Beverly Ann Woodward Lewis earned her wings to Heaven on December 26, 2014 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Beverly was born July 31, 1944 in Webster, SD to Kenneth and Doris (Amdahl) Woodward. The family lived in the Summit, SD area until 1948 when they moved to Sioux Falls, SD.

Beverly attended Irving, Axtell Park, and Washington High Schools in Sioux Falls.

On June 1, 1964, she was united in marriage with Darol Lewis in Sioux Falls. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2014. Two children were born to them - Brenda and Bradley. Beverly worked at various jobs and retired from J.W. Window Components.

She loved to keep her hands busy making afghans, towels and cooking and baking for her family.

In 2007, her daughter gave her a kidney, giving Bev a few more years to enjoy life and her family.

Survivors include her husband, Darol; her daughter, Brenda Johnson; her son, Bradley Lewis; two precious granddaughters, Tasha Lewis and Hayley Johnson; her sisters, Betty Breneman of Omaha, NE, Janice (Donald) Buus, Carol (Ronald) Haddock and Marlene (Michael) Graves; her sister-in-law, Sharon Woodward, all of Sioux Falls; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James, Calvin and Mark Woodward; and a great niece, Kimberly Johns.

Funeral services will begin 2:00 pm Friday at First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Main Avenue location.

She was the most loving, caring, friendly, and happy person I have ever known, she treated me like one of the family. I miss not being able to sit with her and crochet and visit about our kids and grandchildren. going to bingo and played also had something to eat.

My mom just told me of the passing of Bev tonight. As I sit here cuddled up with the pink afghan she made me I am happy to think of her finally in Jesus' loving arms. Thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Love you all.
