Major Wardlaw was indeed a special person. He handled SWAT with precision. He was never too busy to give words of assistance or kindness, sometimes with that special smile, others with the raise of the eyebrow which meant you needed to figure it out for yourself. If you had the opportunity to know him personally you were blessed. He loved his wife and family and made sure others knew it was possible to have dedication to their job without losing perspective of what was most important. I wish love and heartfelt sympathy to the family for their loss.
