As our family celebrate the New Year 2025, thoughts of you and Dad immediately come to mind. Thanking God for a new decade! Not a day goes by that I don't think about my dear brother Derwin. Just finished celebrating Christmas which was Derwin's favorite holiday.
He loved playing Santa for his nieces, nephews and for his own children. He loved gathering with family. He would be so very proud of his children, Jordan and Kamryn. They both are doing well academically in college. RIH dearest brother. Love you 4ever! Love you to the moon and back.

As the days draw closer to the anniversary of the passing of my beloved brother Derwin, my hearts still pains and the tears still flow. I know that he is longer in pain. He is with OUR HEAVENLY FATHER . I thank God for allowing Derwin to be with us for 57 years. As his big sister, I watched him from baby to toddler, from toddler to boy, from boy to teen, from teen to a young man and from a young man to a gentleman. I thank God for the precious memories that are forever etched in my mind and heart. His son Jordan and daughter Kamryn are true examples of his legacy. Derwin was a proud Dad and wonderful Father. He adored his children. We had a special bond, I'm the oldest daughter and he was the oldest son. We ended our last phone conversation on January 3, 2014, as usual with Derwin saying "Love you Big Sis" and I responded "Love you FOREVER."

Condolenses to the entire Tucker Family, Lisa and beautiful children and dearest friends. I feel your pain because I've losted close family members as well as friends. But let me comfort you with these words. I can't imagine that there could be a better son, brother,husband, father and friend than Derwin L. Tucker. We were college teammates, roommates and true brothers. We were country boys from Hampton, Virginia and Dayton, Ohio respectfully. We clicked right away because I immediately felt he was a person I could trust right away. You can only develop the feeling by knowing he came from a great family. He loved his parents, sisters $ brother dearly along with Lisa and the kids. I could right a book on our exploits in Champaign-Urbana. Mostly good of course. One thing is for sure with had 1 another's backs. E-man, Hammer,CB,JB,Carew, Rick,J-Mo,Gino,Sharrod, Joyce, Toni-Flo, Bobby & countless other friends stretching from Hampton, Champign-Urbana, L.A., St. louis, Chicago, and Atlanta. Our dear friend has when full circle and returned to his beloved Hampton. I'll miss him dearly, because I knew he was in a lot of physical pain. Yet he always checked on me in great spirits to make sure I was following up on my Doctor's appointment's. That is an unselfish brother/friend forever in my eternal life. God Bless you Derwin and your family and dear friends. We'll all met again on hte other side of peace, forever love,togetherness and heaven's protection from all evil's around the world.

Dear Tucker family, I am so very sorry for the loss of wonderful Derwin. He was special to us all with his bright smile and wit. He loved his family dearly and spoke of the kids often.

To the Tucker Family, words cannot express a lost of a son. I grew up with Derwin and his brother Shelton and of course he would be greatly missed down here on planet earth but now he's now in the arms of God. I was on the phone back during Thanksgiving with another child hood friend, and what do you know Derwin called the childhood friend I was speaking with 1st and Derwin was put on the three way to say hello to me because fellowship had been a while. One thing I could say about Derwin was his heart for others. His last words to me was take care and tell your family hello for me which I did. Based on the messages left in this guest book, Derwin seemed to have shared and touched many with endless positive memories. I came to know Derwin in St Louis when he joined the Cardinal Ritter College Prep coaching staff during the 1980-81 school year. I was a teacher there at the time. He also resided in my apartment for several months. A young man with football in his blood, he was a good coach and great guy. I thank the Spirit for its incarnation as Derwin.
