Family-Placed Death Notice

EDDIE FRANCIS MCCRAY Eddie Francis McCray (Sonny), 60, died June 5, 2005. Eddie was born March 17, 1945 in Brundidge, AL. He graduated from Pike County High School in 1963 and shortly thereafter moved to Atlanta. For over 33 years, Eddie was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service from which he retired in June of 2000. Eddie was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and husband. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha McCray; and one sister, Sarah Pearson. He is survived by his father, Clarence McCray; wife of 41 years, Ida P. Lampley McCray; their three children: Valerie McCray of Decatur, GA; Gordon McCray (LaTonya) of Ellenwood, GA; and Juan McCray of Marin City, CA; five grandchildren: Geoffrey, LaQuiva, Kaiser, Katara and Victoria; five sisters: Estelle (Haisten) Harris, Azaline (Talmedge) Brooks, Annie (James) Moultry, Joretta (Willie) Hall, all of Brundidge, AL; Mary Melton of Dothan, AL; three brothers: Willie (Joyce) McCray of Jemerson, AL; Harold (Brenda) McCray of Decatur, GA; Fred (Angela) McCray of Brundidge, AL; three sisters-in-law: Mildred Stewart, of Jamaica, NY; Jossie Lightner of Jersey City, NJ; Elnora Lampley of Brundidge, AL; three brothers-in-law: Mose (Verna) Lampley of Asbury Park, NJ; Alexander Lampley of Covington, GA; Ray Lampley of Brundidge, AL; one aunt, Annie Bell Faulk of Brundidge, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews. He also leaves to cherish memories of their friendship, Mr. Robert Weaver of Decatur, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 1:00PM Country Line Baptist Church, Galloway Road, Brundidge, AL.
