Gerald Davenport Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Gerald Edward Davenport, 63, of Lilburn, Georgia, died Sunday morning January 22, 2006. Gerald was the son of Alvis and Effie Nora Davenport of Athens, Alabama. Gerald made his home in the Atlanta area for the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lisa Davenport and his children, Pamela Chandler, David Davenport, Jennifer Lusk, and Kevin Davenport, along with his five grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, and Isaiah Chandler and Kendall and Dacy Davenport. Also surviving are Gerald's brother George Davenport, and his sisters Alice Evans, Nancy McCarthy, Linda Rankin and Karen Davenport. Following a private family interment service, a memorial service will be held at Pilgrimage Presbyrerian Church, 4525 Wynne Russell Drive in Lilburn on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church in Gerald's name. I have worked with the Davenport family for many years. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them at this very difficult time in their lives. Gerald will be missed.

I did not know Mr. Davenport very well, but I always heard wonderful stories from his sister, my step-mom, Linda Rankin. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and Mr. Davenport's friends. May God bless and keep you always.
