Family-Placed Death Notice
John W. "Billy" Stephenson, Jr., 86, of Newnan died Saturday, July 10, 2004. He was born on August 10, 1917 in Decatur, GA. The funeral is Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Newnan with Dr. Gene Tyre, Rev. Don Helms, Rev. John Roland, and Dr. Cliff Morris officiating. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at McKoon Funeral Home, Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Sue Wallis Stephenson of Newnan; daughters, Susan (Lee) Vanderlip of Moreland; Nancy Stoltz of Newnan; Betty (George) Hayes of Wyoming; brothers, Robert (Martha) Stephenson of Fayetteville; Calvin (Dottie) Stephenson of College Park; grandchildren, Lee Vanderlip Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL; Becky Roland of Yemassee, SC; and great grandchildren, Rhiannon Vanderlip, Lauryn Grace Roland. McKoon Funeral Home.
