Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Kind of a tough day today, as I expect next Sunday will be---your 72nd birthday.

Just had to pop in here and say hey because it really felt weird not being able to say "Happy Father's Day" to you in person today. I hope you had a good day, up in heaven-I expect everyday in heaven is a good one.... :-)

See you in my dreams....and one day in heaven....

Love,

Dear Peggy, Chuck & family,

I have been trying repeatedly to get an entry in this book. My computer just hasn't been cooperating.

We are all so sorry to hear about Peggy's dad. Please know that we know how she feels, having lost both our dads. Our prayers and sympathy are with you all.

We have been thinking about ya'll recently and have been remembering the times we taught the 4 & 5 year olds at Corpus Christi. That seems so long ago!

God Bless and keep you in His loving arms,

Susan, Brad & Steve

I did not know the father very well (Joseph Devore), but I knew all of his children, and consider them my friends. They are a great group of people - each unique in their own way. There is a part of him in each of them, and he must have been quite a man, and father.

My condolences to all who were close to him, especially the children - there is a better place for us.

We were new to St.Philip's church. When our daughter pointed out to us the man who would come to her classroom and read to the children. Ashley had told me that he was the funniest one and all the children Loved it when he came. So we introduced ourselves to the Devore's. From that time on we became good friends. Betsy had asked us to go on a Cursillo weekend. We thank God for them and Love them so. We will miss Joe-Joe's Devore Eggs!!!!

Peggy,Chuck and family,

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family as you walk through this grief and heartache in the loss of your precious dad. You are all in our prayers. Losing your parent/grandparent/brother/uncle/fr iend is so very difficult. Here is a poem I remember reading when my dad died nearly 4 years ago.

MEMORIES ARE:

Memories are thoughts and images of the fading past.

Memories are pictures, stored in an old photo album

So that they will last.

Memories could be yellowing pages of letters written long ago.

They could also be a secret code for only the owner to know.

Memories are a vision of love which later ended in tears.

Memories are recordings of what went on over the years,

But the most valuable of all

Memories are those that live in our hearts and our minds.

For they belong to me and they can never be lost, or left behind.

No one and no thing can ever take away the precious memories you have of your dad.....they are yours forever!

The love that he gave

was simply devine,

He loved with a grandness,

that was one of a kind.

He touched are hearts,

in more than one way.

Thats why we miss him,

on these upsetting days.

God has opened his arms,

with a much greater love.

One Joe Devore would be proud of.

Love that only comes from above.

It is a loss,

that we all felt.

When I think about it,

my heart does melt.

I love you Grandpa,

just like you love me.

I know you can see that,

I can feel that your happy.

Into the arms of God and the Glory of heaven. In place were you can keep watch on all your children. Such wonderful a place for my Grandpa.
