To all the Heiskell Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your dear Mother's passing. I will always remember her kindness and thoughtfulness as my neighbor all through our family lives on Nawench Drive. She would take my side when chided by the "boys" about being a Southern Lady...and a little late on school mornings! I needed that grace!
She will certainly be missed. Over the past few years I would enjoy visiting with her and your father over at Blue Ridge Grill after church on Sundays. What an amazing couple!!!!!!!!!!She will always be an inspiration to me.

Mrs. Heiskell had more energy than three people half her age. I so enjoyed being her assistant and learning from her inexhaustible knowledge of people, and life in general. Her care and concern for all children was truly remarkable.
We are saddened to hear of her passing, but we are sure that she is in heaven, meeting and greeting, and making everyone feel like a long lost friend.
Thank you for helping us 'train up' our children!
Love to the Heiskell family,

Mrs. Heiskell was a lovely lady and cared very deeply about all of her students. I am so glad that we had the honor of knowing her and her family and I am convinced that our children got the best grade school education in the city. Our deepest sympathy to all in the Heiskell family. With all of our Love and Prayers: Joy, Kennard, Frances and John Neal

Our family loved Mrs. Heiskell. She was a earthly angel that embodied a beautiful spirit, one that grabbed you at first sight. She was truly special and served her purpose. She will be missed, but may she rest in peace and transition over to her heavenly father. Prayers for the family.

God bless all those who loved her. As someone whose family grew in our own faith as part of Heiskell School, her legacy extends well beyond her family by blood.

BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO THE HEISKELL FAMILY. I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW MRS. HEISKELL, BUT IT SURE WAS REFRESHING TO MEET HER. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING HER SOME YEARS AGO IN TUESDAY MORNING. SHE WAS A JEWEL TO MEET.

Remember her from the sixties when my sister (who also had physical health problems) began going there, first in her home and later at the school. My parents were fond of her and appreciated all she did; and my sister, as a young child, loved her. Sorry for your loss, she obviously lived a long blest life.

This alum feels honored to have attended her special school. Running into her many many years later was so exciting and she thought to ask about my mother. Amazing. My thoughts are with her family. She will be missed but she's left so much that is good behind.Sally ShropshireCashiers, NC

Good-bye Mrs. Heiskell. It was a long time ago, but I spent the ages from 3 to 5 in your care and you were wonderful to me. I'm sure you're in heaven now, creating a new playgroup for all the little children there.

Mrs. Heiskell was a wonderful woman. With the Heiskell School, the Heiskell's provided a firm foundation where we could learn and grow -- first in Christ and then in academics. I have such happy memories of my years there from 1972-1976 (and being part of the Bicentennial Celebration program mentioned). My warm condolences to the family.
Mrs. Heiskell was certainly a faithful servant, and I know she is happy in her Savior's embrace.

Jesus will welcome Miriam with a joyful embrace and enjoy her wit and wisdom at the heavenly banquet. That said, those of us left behind will miss her. She gave so much to so many. She supported our ministry and trained my children. She encouraged us with His grace faithfully throughout the years. Lili and I are greatly blessed that our lives were enhanced by Mrs. Heiskell. God bless you forever!
Yours in Christ

Our children attended The Heiskell School for 8 years, I was a Cubmaster of Pack 226 there, and my wife was a lower school teacher. We loved our time at that school and will miss Mrs. Heiskell's cheerful embrace and warm smile. May she rest in peace for so many lives she touched with her grace.

Our prayers and tears are with the extended Heiskell family. I count myself extremely privileged to be one of the great crowd of children "trained up in the way he should go" by the tireless work of Mrs Heiskell and her family. Mrs Heiskell's passion for discipling children bore fruit in my siblings and me and is now bearing further fruit in our children and the ministries we run. We are inexpressibly grateful to God for the life of this His servant, Mrs Heiskell - and we look forward to the day that we, together with a great crowd of generations of children may meet her again across the Jordan.
