DOUGHTIE, Suzanne Suzanne Schilling Doughtie, age 83, died Wednesday morning, April 15th, from kidney failure. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years, George Roberts Doughtie, Sr. Suzanne was born and raised in Atlanta, the youngest of two daughters of Clarence and Yvonne Schilling. She attended North Fulton High School, the University of Georgia, and Georgia State University, earning her Masters degree in Education. She taught school in the Cobb County School system for 15 years before changing careers and entering the real estate business. She was a lifelong avid gardener. She belonged to Bellmere Garden Club, was past president of the Dekalb Federation, a member of the Redbud and Dogwood District, a member of Imaginatif Judges's Club, a Master Judge, and past president of the State Board. She is survived by one sister, Yvonne S. Johnson, her 3 sons and their spouses, Libby & George Doughtie, Gainesville, Frankie & Chris Doughtie, Atlanta, and Tricia and Sim Doughtie, Lilburn and 7 grandchildren, Shawn Doughtie, Alpharetta, Scott Doughtie, Duluth, Danielle and Brian Doughtie, Gainesville, Amy and Shawn Ansbro, Gainesville, Michelle and Sean Doughtie, Dunwoody, Megan Doughtie, Atlanta, and Josh Doughtie, Atlanta and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday April 16th from 7:00-9:00 at the Sandy Springs Chapel and graveside services will be Friday morning at Arlington Memorial Park, 11:30 am.
