AUBURN | Mr. Kennard C. Walter, 72, of the Boyle Center, Auburn, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 in Auburn Community Hospital.
Mr. Walter was born in Auburn on Nov. 19, 1941, the son of Frank, whom predeceased him in 1975, and Lorraine Burgdorf Walter. As a lifelong resident of the area, he had worked as a carpenter for a number of years. Mr. Walter would later work building and repairing computers and teaching computer technology at B.O.C.E.S. He was a member of the F.& A.M. Lodge #130 in Port Byron, where he served as the past treasurer and Chaplin.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Walter, of Oneida; four children, Tammie (Bruce) Jayne, of Union Springs, Kim (Richard) Moon, of Union Springs, Rene Smith (Bruce Corey), of Auburn, and Kennard G. Walter, of Auburn; grandchildren, Richard Hahn, Kansas Robson, Sara Jackson, Troy Smith, Cody Smith, R.J. Moon, Brandon (Bud), Syerra Walter, K.J. Walter, Heather Marzano, Jessica Parlov, Jason Jayne, Ashley Moon, and Megean Moon; great-grandchildren, Blake, Mark, Brook, Gracie, Jack, Liberty, Ava, and Carter; special friend and mother of his children, Sarah Gibbous; siblings, Sharon (George) Hopper, Sandy (Leonard) Dox, Dale (Norma) Walter, Carla (Doug) Clark, Bonnie Ray (Anthony) Sanchez, Diane (Ray) Chest, Donna (Greg) Large, and Donald "Butch" Walter; sister-in-law, Florence Cook; aunts and uncles, David Walter, Lorraine Shutter, Wilma Alnutt, Myna Salvage, Alice Smith, and Dorothy Hahn; 33 nieces and nephews.
Along with his father, he was predeceased by several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours were held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Springport, N.Y.
