James Parker Obituary

Mr. James E. "Ervin" Parker, born on March 10, 1947, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at University Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Parker recently retired as Construction Superintendent from Kuhkle Construction Company. He was an avid deer hunter, he loved his family with all his heart, he was a hard-working man all his life and would do anything he could for his family and friends. He looked forward to fishing and watching lots of John Wayne movies in his retirement.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Parker; his daughters, Roxanne Martin ( Hank), Cindy Holmes (Mike), Ginger Reyes, and Paige Gavidia; his grandchildren, Lauren Greiner, Jared Greiner, Kendal Greiner, Caroline Martin, Kenny Taylor (Elisha), Kadie Mains (Macy), Mario Reyes Jr., James Reyes, Julian Carbrerra Jr. , Joshua Carbrerra, and six great grandchildren; his sister in law, Elizabeth Fulcher; his brothers, Cecil Parks (Harriette), Donny Parker ( Sylvia), aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, stepsisters and stepbrother, and his beloved four legged children, Elvis and Prissy. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his father, George Robert Parker; his mother, Mary Louise Newkirk, and his brothers, George Edward Parker and Ray Thomas Parker.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors in the Heart and Vascular Center and 6th floor ICU at University Hospital, and also his primary care physician for many years, Dr. Frederick Merrill and his nurse Jane.
