PSG Janson J. Creager

AUGUSTA, Ga. - PSG Janson J. Creager (ret.), 81, entered into rest on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. He served his country proudly, first in 1948 serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, then re-enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. PSG Creager was awarded the Bronze Star, MSM, and various Army Commendations, Achievements and Service Medals. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, his continued his service as a Civilian at the Signal School, where he was a Training Specialist in Electronics. Mr. Creager was a member of the VFW Post 649. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mae Creager. He is survived by sons, James S. (Elly) Creager of Augusta, GA, John J. Creager of Jesup, GA; daughter Susie Creager; sister, Mae Williams of Salem, OH and June Willison of Minerva, OH; a brother, Frank Creager of Pocotello, ID; grandchildren, Eric S. Creager, Emily K. Creager, and Janson J. Creager II; and a great grandchild, Wesley Creager. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
