Kitty was the best friend anyone could ever with for. When my mom wanted to relocate the graves of her two children who died in childbirth, she asked Kitty to go be the witness, as required by the regulations. Kitty went to the graveside as the digging begun. She officially confirmed the remains were appropriately moved. The evidence of them were only a few ivory buttons from the gowns the baby girls were buried in. And some of the hardware from the wood caskets were found as well. That is all that remained of them. Given it had been 40 years, that was normal. Kitty was always the first person there when there was a problem and especially a crisis. I can tell you first hand that Kitty's children are all like that as well. The Hopkins gene for contributing to the lives of their family and friends is very strong. We are all better for the life of Kitty.

What can one say about such a wonderful person??? She was an inspiration to so many people. You can not count the number of lives she touched. Having grown up by the University Hospital where my father was the director I know he took such pride in the nurses that graduated from the Barrett School of nusing. Mrs. Hopkins was one of the best. My prayers are with you. Sincerely,

My prayer's are with all the Hopkins. I loved mama Kitty for her humor, wisdom and many, many stories. She would give me advice whether I liked it or not and she was ALWAYS' right.. I will deeply miss her, she was beautiful inside and out. And could make the BEST Christmas cocktail. (mama kitty's eggnog). I know she's in heaven hugging her loved ones. Free from pain and sorrow. I feel privileged to have known her and to have shared some very special conversations and secrets. God Bless

Kitty (and her sister Ruby) were two of my most favorite people! They were kind, funny and down to earth. I know they are together now, catching up with each other. God bless you, sisters.

To all the Hopkins, Thank you for sharing Kitty with my family over the last 45 years. Kitty was one of my mother's best friends. Kitty was a great influence on my family. When things were tough, Kitty was there for my mom and my family. My mom did not feel much like doing much in the way of Christmas in 1974 - just a month after my dad died. Kitty took over and we were off to the races. She made mom go to Fat Man's and get fresh decorations. That house never looked more like Christmas than it did that year. That was the turning point. From then on, the family got better and all was well from that point forward. Kitty was always the go-to for difficult situations. She loved us like we were her own. She was truly a second mother to all the Annis children. God Bless Kitty.
