Peggy Williams Obituary

AVERA, Ga. - Peggy Jean Davis Williams, 79, loving wife to the late Clifford Douglas Williams, entered eternal rest Friday night, July 3, 2015 at University Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services will be held at Waldens United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 6, 2015 with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. One of nine children born to the late Emma Manning Davis and the late Joe Thomas Davis, Peggy was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a member of Waldens UMC. A homemaker, a beautician, and a school bus driver for over 25 years, Peggy loved being with her family. Her unselfish, abiding love will be greatly missed. Peggy is also preceded in death by her siblings, Reba Peebles, Mary McGahee, Dorothy Davis, Beulah Lamb, Broadus Davis and Bennett Davis. Survivors include her three children, Janice W. Snider (Algie), Paul D. Williams, and Wayne S. Williams (Renee); two siblings, Charlie E. Davis and Jo Dean Davis; five grandchildren, Matthew K. Snider, Daniel A. Snider, Wayne "Sam" Williams, Ashley Jones and Coley Jones; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Channell, Jimmy Clark, Bryan Davis, Chris Davis, Buford Manning, Frank McGahee, Robert Rabun and Robert Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Harlem VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Jefferson County School Bus Drivers. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Waldens United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Patricia Kitchens, 1304 Hadden Pond Road, Avera, GA 30803.
