To my cousin,

"You came into the world with a mission.

A mission to prove that you could touch so many hearts and have everyone remember you for the rest of their lives.

You accomplished what you came to do."

You will always be the twinkle in your families eyes.

Growing up and the times we did hang out at grandma Gwen's I will always remember you and Brady (playing) golf in the field. (Before it became Bangerter Highway)and you willing to show me a couple swings. Granted I didn't do to well but you showed great patients. Thanks.

You always had a warming smile for me and so did the rest of your family. I will always remember your smile. You are in good hands and I know your family would love to see you again. It broke my heart to hear what had happend. I saw the shock and the pride in your family as they all new you left this world doing what you loved to do.

"You flew so high above the clouds and now you fly so much higher above us with your new family. Don't forget the important things in your life, they mean the most."

Kathy and Wayne, Brady, Hilly, Tyler, Chad, Ash, and Carter, you are all in my prayers. If you need anything please let me or my mom know. Keep in touch. WE LOVE YOU.

WE WILL MISS YOU PERRY! Please watch over us all.

Perry, I just wanted to say thanks for being such a good friend. I was always impressed by the way you would make new friends wherever you would go. Your likeable personality, enthusiasm for aviation, and for life in general was contagious to everyone you were around. If a friend needed help you would always be there or you would definitely try your hardest. I remember calling you complaining that I was stuck in Page away from my family in Salt Lake. Your answer was "let me round up an airplane and I'll be right there". Thanks for being a mentor to me. There were a few nerve racking situations while we were flying that I was sure grateful to have you and your flying skills in the seat next to me. I like to think that if I am ever in a similar situation you would be there again. Perry, I am so glad that I was able to spend the Saturday before you left with you, Turbo and Lexy. Not only did we fly in formation one last time but I was able to witness the joy that your children brought to your life. So thats how I will remember you, not just Perry the pilot and friend but Perry the loving father. Thanks...

Perry What up Homie! Even if I sat an thought about a bad thing to say about you, I would draw a blank. Your are rare guy to find in this day and age. As a pilot myself and probably other pilots would feel that you were delivered to god like a true avaitor. Thanks Perry for you teachings and friendship.

Grant Family and Friends - My prayers and thoughts are with you all, may God Bless.

My dear sweet Perry, I still can't beleive you are gone. I wonder how you are doing. I know we are all so sad we can hardly bare it. Perry I know you worked hard, played hard and was not afraid to live your life. You brought so much love into the world, and so many people that loved you. You were able to do more in your 27 years than most people do in a long life time. You were blessed to do the things you loved to do. You brought to us beautiful children to love, which we will all treasure. I just want you to know how much I love you ,and appreciate the privilage I have had to be your mother. I am so proud of you and I will miss seeing the twinkle in your eyes and your sweet smile. I will miss you everyday of the rest of my life. And I look forward to the day we will all be together again. Love Mom

I knew perry from way back in jr. high, that kid had more charisma in his pinkey than most people had in there whole body, I flew with perry on many occasions he was a gifted pilot but on top of that he was a true gentleman my hopes and prayers go out to the Grant family, may you find peace and closure in such a time of grief! Perry will be in my and everybody's heart that he ever made contact with he was one of a kind! best wishes.

Perry, it's hard to understand why you had to leave us so soon, but I'm sure you're flying with the angels now. I had the honor of being with your family in the days following the tragic news. It was so touching to see the outpouring of love and friendship by your many family members and friends. I will always treasure the time I had with them and the special bonds we developed. I only wish you could have been there, too. You will always live on in our hearts. Love, Aunt Mitzi.

Wayne and Kathy,

My heart goes out to you. I know how it feels and we know how it feels. I am not going to tell you I know how you feel because only our Savior knows that. Everytime I think of this tragedy it reminds me of the deaths we have endured, the feelings now and all of the in-between feelings. .sadness, anger, despair, regrets, shoulda'dones, wish I'ds. . the feelings go on and on. My best advice is to stay or get close to the church and feel of His love. I testify of this knowledge.

Love,

Tim and Bambi

In a family with so many cousins, Perry stood out. A bit of a swagger, a contagious smile and a sparkle in his eye. He had a way of making me feel comfortable and welcome. We could laught and swap flying stories and I genuinely hoped that as things for me settled out, I could have him as my CFI, one that I could really trust and respect, to steer me to get my ratings current.

But life is short, sometimes brutally so. I can be thankful though for Perry as one of those shining stars who lit up my sky, even if for but a while.

Wayne & Kathy...suffice it to say my heart goes out to you and the rest of your family; and while words seem so awfully empty right now, I hope you'll let me know if there's anything I can do.

Perry entered our lives a few short weeks ago as Lee's multiengine instructor. We looked around as Nan is very picky and wanted Lee to have only "The Best!" So we asked Dean Larson who said to us to "go to Perry." We said "who is he?" He said "he is this neat guy you will really like looking to get a little business here in St. George started." So off we went in search of Perry. We found him sitting behind the desk happy as a clam and he took a real interest in us. He was as excited as Lee to get his multi rating. He showed him all the ropes. He was very talented and we flew together in some intense but fun training here in St. George. We had a great time together. He just complemented Lee up and down for being such a sharp 17 year old. Lee only needed one more brushup flight then off for his checkride. But off Perry went to never return. A honored piece of Perry's talent has been passed on to Lee as he continues on his flying career.

Dear Grant Family,

Although you don't know us, we wanted to express our condolences to your family as we truly understand what you are going through at this time. We noticed Perry's obituary in the paper yesterday and felt the need to express our sympathies to each of you. The heartache is tremendous as Perry's death leaves such a void in the family. We know it is difficult to imagine going on without him. However, within your despair, hopefully you also have a feeling of honor as you reflect on the impact he has had on your life and the life of others with the goals he set, and the accomplishments he achieved.

Normally, we wouldn't write to people we don't even know, but we appreciated so much the comfort and solace in the generous outpouring of love and concern when we lost our son on May 23, 2005. He was just 2 years younger than Perry. He was instructing the last of nine pilots he had to train in So. Carolina when their plane went down and Ryan and his student were taken.

Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

May the Lord's blessings be with you always.

Very Sincerely,

Bruce & Nedra Bunker

Perry, yesteday was the most difficult day of my life. I fought hard for you to get you released from the hospital so that I could bring you home. I will never forget the pain of flying back from Colorado and starring back at your simple grey metal transporter casket. As a father it was an honor to see to it that you were returned to Utah with respect and dignity. I promise to insure that your name and your children are protected. I have endured the pain of your loss by the outpouring of so many of your friends. Your were truly a great son and I am very proud of you. If you were trying to follow in my footsteps then I now see that I have to follow in yours. I Love you, Dad

Perry, You died doing something you loved doing. I know how hard it was for you to get all those hours and support a family. We will miss you at Bountiful. I was hoping that all of us pilots thats went to flight school together would all meet up at Skywest one day and share old stories. I didn't get the chance to know you on a personal level, but I liked your friendly character when we would say hi to each other and chit chat at BTF. I know how proud you were of your dad. You always talked about following in his footsteps. I hope God gives your family the strength to endure such a loss. We all have lost friends while flying through the years. Those who have lost their lives will be carried by those who live in their hearts when our dream is finally reached. Our hearts just gets heavier each time when we lose another friend. May God bless your family through this time and let you memory turn to smiles and not tears in the hearts of them all. Keep the clouds on the bottom and the stars on top....
