Ronald A. Willson

EVANS, Ga. - Ronald A. Willson, 66, beloved husband of Jane C. Willson for 30 years, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Doctors Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Ron honorably served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Charles F. Adams, DDG-2 as a petty officer in the 1960's. He retired from Bechtel Construction. A member of Wesley United Methodist Church and The Tin Can Sailors, Ron was a sportsman who enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, and tennis, but he was most widely known and praised by family and friends as the consummate host and a chef extraordinaire. Generous and loyal, Ron found his center in his family, his loving wife Jane and his two children, of whom he was very proud. In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by one son, Rob G. Willson of Augusta, GA; one daughter, Jennifer J. Willson of Evans, GA; mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Mary Cree Calhoun of Martinez, GA; sister -in-law, Carolyn Walter and husband Jim, niece Claire and nephew James of Oak Park, IL.
