Barbara J. Miller

Barbara J. Miller passed away on June 13 at the age of 90. She was born on February 2, 1933 in Sadorus, Illinois to the late Matilda and John Reinhart and is predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Chuck, and Helen. Her sister, Donna Collinsworth resides in Mattoon, Il where the family worked a farm.

Barbara moved to Joliet, Il in 1953 and met her first husband Carl Meditz. They had six children Patricia (husband Lynn Mormann), Carol (husband Mike Sather), Beth (husband Mike Guzzi,) Mike (wife Jennifer), Tom (wife Julie). Rick Meditz is deceased. Barbara was widowed at 40 and raised the family as a single mother in Plainfield, Il. She relied on her faith and resilience as she worked to keep the family together.

She later met and married Richard Miller of Aurora in 1988 and moved to Montgomery, Il. He recently passed away at the age of 100. They enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards, yard work and traveling. Her stepson, Michael Miller (wife Martha) reside in California.

Barbara is also survived by a dozen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. One grandson, Benjamin Meditz is deceased.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 19 at Dieterle Memorial Home with visitation and service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial service with family members will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Plainfield.
