Judy Elizabeth Bond

1942 - 2023

Judy Elizabeth Bond passed away May 2, 2023. She was born September 27, 1942, in Aurora, on the family farm directly across from her final resting place at Lincoln Memorial Park. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Lois Stoner.

After graduating from Oswego High School, she attended Northern Illinois University through her Junior year, when she enlisted in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After basic training she served 3 years in Hawaii, she was then transferred to San Antonio, Texas, where she met and married Stan Bond.

She supported Stan as a house parent and supervisor at Boysville in San Antonio. Judy and Stan raised their beloved son Clayton Bond. Judy continued her schooling at Southwest Texas State University earning a master's in education. She was a teacher and principal at the North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas for 23 years.

Upon retirement, she spent several years in Florida with her brother John, his wife Linda, her son Clay, and his partner Bryan Martin. Shortly after Clay's death in April of 2018 she suffered a debilitating stroke. Judy was cared for at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, Illinois for the last 5 years.

Along with her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by her stepbrother, David Scott Atkins and her stepmother Virginia (Atkins) Stoner.

Judy is survived by her brother, John Stoner; cousins, Al and Caryl Chrisse; nephew, Brian (Wendy) Stoner; grandniece, Kayley Stoner; grandnephew, Andrew Stoner; niece Stacy Meger nee Stoner; grandnieces, Lauren and Lily Meger.

The internment service with military honors for Judy will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Park, 675 Route 30, Aurora, IL 60504.
