Millicent Jo Taylor

Millicent Jo Taylor, a longtime Aurora resident, passed away on February 3, 2022.

Millie loved to travel both domestically and abroad, visiting family and friends around the globe. She liked to knit and sew. She committed countless hours to her condominium family as a member of their board, and kept the Taylor Family Reunion gathering alive for more than sixty years. Millie loved to play golf and as a diehard Bears and White Sox fan, she loved to watch sports.

Mil worked as executive assistant at the Aurora Federal Savings and Loan for many years, and then joined the Aurora Public Library, a beloved member of the Children's Dept. staff.

Millicent, "Millie," or "Auntie Mil" to her family was devoted to her family and friends, joining them on vacations and celebrating special milestones. She was known for her wonderful laugh, great smile and her generosity, and all who knew her will remember her warmth and sense of humor.

Millicent is survived by sister Virginia Deisher, and brother Victor Taylor Jr. (Rebecca), nieces and nephews David Deisher (Emily), Kimberly Corbett (Kerry), Martha Michniewicz (Thad), and Jennifer Taylor (Kathy); great nieces and nephews Meghan Ivany (Brett), Kara Davidson (Matthew), Kristina Falkenthal (Mark), Joseph Corbett, Stephanie Michniewicz, Natalie Michniewicz, Sam Deisher, and Ian Deisher; and great-great nieces and nephews Mason Morton, Nicholas Rose, Presley Davidson, Kane Ivany, Blake Ivany, Evelynn Davidson, Greyson Davidson, and Kaylee Falkenthal.

She is preceded in death by parents Victor J. Taylor Sr. and Gertrude Taylor, sister Gertrude Taylor, sister-in-law Carole Taylor, brother-in-law William Deisher Sr., nephew William Deisher Jr., and niece Samantha Deisher.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 3 – 7 p.m. with a memorial service at

6 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Aurora Public Library District Foundation, 101 S. River St., Aurora, IL 60506.
