Betty Boone Obituary

Betty Jean Boone

Peoria - April 3, 1928 - May 3, 2018. Betty Jean Boone was born to George and Nellie Adams in Hazlehurst, Georgia and eventually settled in New Jersey. She married Malcolm Earl Boone on May 14, 1950, in Bloomfield, New Jersey, where they raised two children, Linda Carole and Malcolm Earl, Jr. Betty loved music, had a beautiful singing voice, shopped like crazy, and made a fabulous lasagna. She was also an avid reader and worldwide traveler. After Betty's retirement from Verizon as a telecommunications manager, she and her husband relocated to Arizona, enjoying a desert lifestyle, continued travel, and the joy of grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm, in 2012, after 62 blessed years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory: sister Beverly J. Onley; two children Linda and Malcolm Jr., son-in-law, James Wilkinson; daughter-in-law, Hernette Boone; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held May 17th, 2018. Viewing at 10am and Celebration of Life at 11am. Hansen Desert Hills Chapel 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. www.hansenmortuary.com for online condolences
