Camille Shade Obituary

Camille (Nelson) Shade

Camille (Nelson) Shade, age 82, passed away on March 26, 2021 with her husband and 2 daughters by her side. She was born in Dallas, TX in 1938 to Joe Lacy Nelson and Nellie Era Nelson. She married Adin W. Shade, on July 6, 1957. Camille and Adin lived the next 63 years dedicated to raising their two daughters, Lynda and Lisa. Her daughter Robin preceded her in death in 1961.

After Camille's father died in World War II, she and her mother moved in with Camille's aunt Geneva and cousin Wanda. The four lived together as a close-knit family. Camille was a graduate of the first class at Camelback High School. She then married Adin at age 18. They moved from the Phoenix/Scottsdale area to Safford, AZ in 1971 and remained there for 13 years. They then returned back to the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Mesa and Cave Creek areas later in life. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Camille worked for several businesses over the years including New York Life, Air Research, Gila Valley Clinic, Banner (Good Samaritan) Hospital, and other noted hospitals and physicians. Her final home was at Heritage Assisted Living in Carefree, AZ.

Camille loved life and had a vast knowledge of many subjects. Her personality shone in her love of books (especially history such as WWII, crime stories, Royalty and ancient mysteries). She was keen in her ability to "always know the answer". She always had great advice for her children and grandchildren. Camille would persevere in just about any situation and everyone who knew her loved her. We all loved her smile, laugh, songs and stories. She had great beauty, both physical and inner.

She is survived by her devoted and caring husband Adin; children Lynda and Lisa (Bruce); grandchildren Andrew (Cori), Deborah (Brandon), and Kaitlyn (Jordan); great-grandchildren Sean, Gabe, Lincoln, Shelby and Ruelynn. She will be greatly missed by all.

Camille was a wonderful friend for the past 64 years and I miss her but she is in my heart forever. Always kind, loving and caring and she was a woman of strong morals standards and integrity.
