Dolores Sprague Obituary
Mesa - (87), passed peacefully in her sleep on Feb. 26, 2018.
Dee, as she was known by friends and family will be dearly missed.
She was born on September 28, 1930 in Mahanoy City, PA to Alex and Helen Yeniscavich, and attended school in Philadelphia. Her early career was as a singer working in New York clubs with several big bands, such as Liberace and Billy Rose.
Her warmth and vibrance endured throughout her life, overshadowing her limited strength and mobility. She was a poet, writer and a forever-hopeful romantic, with a lifelong desire to help others, and staying true to her decades-long career in social work, her children are honoring her wish to donate her organs.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; William and Blaine Shields; Cynthia and Terry Akers; and Jeremiah and Angela Sprague. Five grandchildren; Mark , Matthew , Christopher, Emma and Bianca.
A memorial service will take place at a later time when Dee's final wishes have been completed.
