James Alandar Obituary
84, passed away on February 19, 2016. passed away on February 19, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Bonnie Wilson, Daniel Alandar, and John Alandar; his stepchildren, Kim Alandar and Rose Shockey; and grandchildren Thomas E. Wilson Jr., Shannon Wilson, Karen Alandar, Lynn Dammeir, Daniel Alandar Jr., Khedran Shockey, Jonathon Benedict, Kiri Reynolds, Wilson James Benedict, and Khymberly Lewus; and 19 great grandchildren. Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Phoenix in 1946. He obtained a Master's Degree from ASU while working at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. His intent had been to teach history. However, he realized he belonged in law enforcement and so stayed with the Sheriff's Office for 25 years, advancing through the ranks to become Chief Deputy for five years before his retirement in 1981.
Services will be held at Regency Mortuary, 9850 West Thunderbird, in Sun City, Arizona, on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m., and services at 3:00 p.m.
