James Coxe Obituary

Coxe, James "Jim" Curtis
78, of Phoenix passed away on May 7 2013. Jim was born November 22nd 1934 to Joseph Terrell Coxe and Lovie Estes Sockwell in Kansas City, Missouri. He died peacefully on May 7th, 2013 at the Freedom Plaza Care Center in Peoria, AZ. His son Jay Coxe, Jay's girlfriend Jenny Bryant, and Jim's dog Angie were with him when he passed. He attended South High School in Denver, Colorado, prior to joining the Navy. After serving in the Navy he received his Associate in Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Central Technical Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. He joined Honeywell, later Bull HN as a computer engineer and was with them for over 30 years. Jim had a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Lovie Coxe, and his brother Joe Coxe. He is survived by his sons, James Coxe Jr. and wife Carol, of Roswell, GA, and Jay Coxe of Phoenix, AZ. Other survivors include his sisters Pat Smith of Tucson, AZ, and Joan Arnold of Panama City, FL, plus many nephews and nieces. Jim will be cremated and the family is planning a memorial service to be announced at a future date. Jim, you were one of the nicest neighbors we have ever had. You would take out our garage cans if we forgot. If you got up earlier than us you put up our newspaper right by the garage. You were thoughtful and helpful and we did the same for you. You loved to laugh and talk and knew everyone by name or by sight. A real people person. You will be missed by all who knew you and thought of often.
