Jerry Kelly Obituary

(11/10/2002)Jerry Edwin Kelly, age 69, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Hodge, Louisiana, passed away at his home after a short illness on Tuesday, November 5, 2002. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all, especially Bubba Brian. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Austin for the loving care and attention they extended to the home of Jerry and family in their time of need. He is survived by his wife, Rene Kelly; his children, Phyllis Kelly, David Kelly, Mike Kelly and his wife Jennifer, and Kim Kelly Alvey and husband Bill; grandchildren, Ashley Kelly and Michael and Matthew Kelly; step-children, Jody Pounds, Mandy Vana, Cheryl Scheir Van Dame; step-grandchildren, Robert and Jenna Scheir, Shannon, Candice, Dean and Wyatt; brothers, Gerald, Benny, Glen, Randall, and Buddy; sisters, Peggy, Elizabeth, and Jo; and numerous nieces and nephews. During the Korean War Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army. He was recently retired from his clinic, Austin Electro-Acupuncture where he served the Austin community for 25 years. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday November 17, 2002, at the Kelly residence. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 23, 2002, at the Hodge United Pentecostal Church, Hodge, Louisiana, with Rev. Stroud officiating. Interment will be held at Antioch Cemetery in Antioch, Louisiana. Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 607 East Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78752, (512) 419-7224.
