John Brandon Oyler MILLBROOK, Ala. - John Brandon Oyler, 17, of Millbrook, AL, passed away March 5, 2015. John Brandon was born November 4, 1997, in Charleston, SC. As a young boy, John Brandon was in both cub scouts and boy scouts. He was a junior at Stanhope Elmore High School where he took Advanced Placement (AP) and honors classes. John Brandon wrestled three years, winning third place in his class at the Barry Mask Invitational Wrestling Tournament. John Brandon also played Dixie League baseball where he was an outstanding catcher and pitcher. He was selected to the Dixie League all-star team and served as a certified life guard at Grandview YMCA in Millbrook. As part of an air force family, John Brandon lived five years in Charleston South Carolina, two years in Incirlik, Turkey, three years in Warner-Robbins, Georgia, and seven years in Millbrook, Alabama. When visiting great-grandparents and other relatives in Snelling, SC, John Brandon attended Vacation Bible School at Seven Pines Baptist Church. He also spent vacation time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in San Antonio, TX. A candlelight vigil was held at Memorial Center Park in Millbrook, AL, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, for John Brandon's schoolmates and friends in Alabama. A visitation for family and friends in South Carolina will be held at Seven Pines Baptist Church in Snelling, SC, on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. followed by a short graveside service in Seven Pines Cemetery. The Reverends Billy Mew and Mark Watford will officiate. Mole Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors from Oyler family include John Brandon's parents, Ryan Allan and Jennifer Thompson Oyler; brothers, Justin Ryan Oyler and Jeremy Allan Oyler; grandfather, Jeff Oyler; uncles, Chris Oyler (Mandy) and Kevin Oyler (Diana); and aunts, Sarah Higgins (Russ), and Katie Williams (JD). Survivors from Thompson family include grandfather, Donnie Thompson; aunts, Jessica Thompson Villalon and Christal Gale Thompson; cousins, Michael Anthony Thompson, Dylan Kurtis Villalon; and Mary Emma Villalon. John Brandon was preceded in death by grandmothers, Allana Reusch Oyler and Kathryn Moore Thompson; and his Uncle John Anthony Thompson for whom John Brandon was namesake.
