Kenneth Varner Obituary

Kenneth Lee Varner, 77, of Sun Lakes, Arizona died unexpectedly on
April 16, 2005. He was born September 17, 1927 to Ida Lee Molsbee and Eddia Street Varner of Ogden, Iowa. Kenneth, a Veteran of WWII, joined the Navy at the early age of 16 ½ and served as a 3rd Class Cox swain on the USS Dyson (DD572) in the South Pacific. As a retired Sergeant for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Kenneth became a life member of the "Peace Officers Association." Kenneth, as an outstanding citizen, became a volunteer fire fighter for the Sun Lakes Fire Department and was then promoted to Fire Chief. Upon retirement, he became an honorary member of the "International Association of Fire Chiefs." Kenneth is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie, 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister. Kenneth will be greatly missed by all of us. Memorial Services will be held in Wrightwood, California. Contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to the Sun Lakes Fire Department. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care in Mesa.

Dear Marie,

I was so sorry to hear about Kenny and offer my sympathy and prayers to you and your family. I'll always remember the good times I was fortunate to share with all of you in Las Vegas.
