Raymond Remington Obituary

Raymond A. Remington, 85, of Scranton, passed away May 3, 2006 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was born on March 10, 1921 in Richland, Kansas, the son of Noble and Esther Rowe Remington. Ray had lived all of his life in Osage County. Ray was a farmer and had worked as a carpenter for several construction companies in Topeka. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1445. He had served on the Overbrook Water Board, and was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church where he had served as a Trustee. Ray married Beulah Montgomery on June 9, 1945 in Topeka. He was preceded by the death of his wife on March 6, 2005. Ray is survived by four children: Lee Remington, Lonnie Remington and wife Coleen, Fred Remington and wife Nora, all of Topeka, and Sue Jacoby and husband Dave, of Osage City; seven brothers and sisters, Marie Waetzig of Lawrence, Helen Boaz of California, Jean Gish of Colorado, Erma Trowbridge of Topeka, Robert Remington of Topeka, Don Remington of Overbrook, and Mae Smith of California; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at Lyndon United Methodist Church. Inurnment at Carbondale Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon. Memorials are suggested to Midland Hospice House or Lyndon United Methodist Church, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, Box 160, Lyndon KS 66451.

I will remember Raymond with a smile. Though I didn't know him very long, I have fond memories of last summer, sitting outside watching his new puppy, swatting mosquitos and just shootin' the breeze. I'll remember his fine sense of humor and genuine honesty.



God Bless you Raymond, you will be missed in the neighborhood.
