71, of Chandler, AZ passed away at home on Monday, February 1st, 2016. Rob was born on January 12th, 1945 in Boston, MA to Cyril and Ellen Frances (Dever) Dumas. He graduated from the prestigious Boston Latin School in 1963 and went on to Xavier University. He proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army from January 1967 until April 1972. In 1970, he was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces. Rob worked in the car business for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching his beloved Red Sox and New England Patriots, and playing golf. He was an active Roman Catholic, strong patriot, and a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Rob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 31 years Carole Ann Dumas: and his brother Gerard Dumas. He is survived by his children: Heather Dumas, Jennifer (Robert) Blackstad, Rob (Lori) Dumas, and Erin (Andrew) Pezzuto; grandchildren: Sarah, Nicole, Natalie, Grace, Blase, Joshua, and Luke; siblings: C. Paul Dumas, Marcia (Stephen) Goodwin, Michael Dumas, and Philip (Linda) Dumas. He leaves behind his girlfriend of 5 years Anne Hale; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A Visitation will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home, 1562 East Baseline Road in Mesa, AZ from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 4th, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd., AZ 85282 interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
