Richard Alan Pryor, formerly of Flagstaff, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in Lake Havasu City. He was 75.
Mr. Pryor was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Long Branch, N.J., to John and Mildred (Tetley) Pryor. Following graduation from Oregon State College in 1958, he went to work for the U.S. Forestry Service as a consultant. He served proudly under the direction of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Before moving to Lake Havasu eight years ago, he was a resident of Flagstaff for almost 10 years.
Mr. Pryor is survived by sons Richard Pryor of Blythe, Calif., Gregory Pryor of West Point, Calif., and Jonathan Pryor of Lake Havasu City; daughter Cynthia Blazinski of Lake Havasu City; stepson Dennis Crawford of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his friend and former wife, Phyllis.
Memorial services will be Feb. 23, at 11 a.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Pastor Lan Blair. The VFW Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81 will conduct full military honors.
