Diane Kind Obituary

Diane Kind, 67, of Tehachapi, California, passed away in her sleep on the morning of July 15th, 2014. Diane had battled Scleroderma for fifteen years and, in the end, she succumbed to the disease that was supposed to have taken her life several years earlier. Her fight and desire to live was indicative of her passion for life, her stubborn nature and her refusal to give in. Diane is survived by her children, Kirstin Kind and Warner Kind, her granddaughter Hannah Kind, her daughter-in-law, Jenn Kind, her father, Bernard Jozaitis, her sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Pat Holland, her brother-in-law and his wife, Buzz and Pattie Kind, her niece and her husband, Jhana and Christopher Morlan as well as her mother-in-law, Elinor Kind. Diane is also survived by her beloved friends, the YaYas, who were there for her in good times and bad, and stayed by her side until the very end. Diane's husband, and the father of her children, Ken Kind, passed away in 2003. After Ken's passing, Diane became the backbone of the family. She held everything together and displayed the strength that was evident throughout her life. Diane was full of life, full of energy and full of conviction. She was a beautiful mother, a loving relative and a caring friend. Diane will be missed, but her family and friends have no doubt she will continue to look upon them and continue to instill them with the values she displayed throughout her life. A celebration of Diane's life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:30 at 16837 Johnson Road in Bakersfield, California. In lieu of flowers, Diane's family is asking for donations to the Scleroderma Foundation, Southern California Chapter, 5855 Green Valley Circle #200, Culver City, CA 90230 (please include a note "in memory of Diane Kind" with the donation). The Foundation will provide a tax deductible receipt and notify the family of every donation.
