Kristen was born June 1, 1989 and our angel left us on April 12, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her brother Matthew, grandfather Joe Quijas and beloved Nana Pat Murphy.
Kristen graduated from East High and Bakersfield College. She was known as an empathetic and kind soul and protector of the oppressed her whole life. She also loved and cared for animals. Despite many health issues, she showed more concern for others than herself. She leaves a huge void in the hearts of her family who include parents Tim and Corinna Murphy and brother Joe Anaya. She also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and grandmother Maria Quijas. The world has lost a great soul. Services will be on May 3rd at Greenlawn Northeast at 10:00 In Chapel followed by gravesite services.

Kristen you were one of my best friends in High school even though I moved away a couple years after we graduated we were always close. Even when time would pass we would pick up like it didn´t. Our laughs with great memories. You always had a kind heart and always looked out for the ones you loved. You were always there for me and I´ll never forget you my dear friend. Rest in peace. I´ll see you on the other side. Xoxo my deepest condolences to your family.

In the Fall of 2011, Kristen and I were classmates in an anthropology course at Bakersfield College. It was perhaps the most difficult class I ever had in college. To make matters worse, the class was a weekly night course from 6:00-8:30pm. Man we hated it! We would always vent about the difficult coursework, but also laugh because the professor was actually cool and so laid back. It literally no sense. Kristen and I became study partners throughout the semester. We motivated each other and other students who joined our study group. She talked a lot about her family, her political views, her grandmother, and so much more. She was so kind, caring, had a great personality, awesome sense of humor, and was a great person to be around. Undoubtedly, without Kristen's help and support that semester, I could not have passed the course nor went on to graduate. I am currently a professor and I believe that I partially owe my success to Kristen. I never met anyone else like her. Although I only knew Kristen for that semester, my memory of her presence will forever be revered. I just want to send my condolences to her friends and family...
Rest in Peace Kristen. Thank you for being such a wonderful soul
