I first met Mr. Ruiz when he taught at Fremont School. He then taught at Lincoln Jr. High where I was also attending the following school year. He convinced me and others( Barrio kids) to attend a Saturday program he began and offered sports equipment as a reward for attending. He would tutor some of us before letting us loose onto the campus to play. He literally, changed our lives by taking time to care about these street urchins that were roaming about in those days. Thank You Mr. Ruiz your efforts paid off for many of us. Of the 10 or so females and males, most were to seek and attain professional careers.

Dear Family,
No words can express the loss your feeling but your Dad is with your Mom and together they shall be guiding and watching over all of you.
There are things we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn and people we can't live without but have to let go.

Our love and prayers are with all of you.

Sending a note of sincerest condolences for the family of Manuel. Manuel was a dear friend of my father, Manuel Rodriguez. Just thinking about your Brother, Dad, Grandfather brings a smile to my face. He always had a smile to share and I know he and my father enjoyed many a laugh and some good times on the golf course. I will always remember him with the highest regard he was such a kind, giving and honorable man.

May he rest in peace in our Father's heavenly embrace.

Sincerely,

Susie Rodriguez Cortez
