William Richard Greenlee Ill (Rick)
March 21, 1971 - October 25, 2018
William Richard Greenlee Ill (Rick), unexpectedly passed away and went to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Rick or "Charlie" as his father called him, was born in Bakersfield on March 21, 1971, to W.R. Jr and Jeannie Greenlee. Other than a short stint in college, Rick was raised and spent his whole life in Bakersfield. Rick attended Lakeside Elementary School and Bakersfield High School. He decided to extend his education by attending Bakersfield Jr College and Cal Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Rick obtained an associate's degree in agriculture at BC then went on to obtained his bachelor's degree in Crop Science from Cal Poly.
It was at Cal Poly where Rick met the love of his life, Robyn Adams. They married in July of 1995 and went on to have 2 amazing daughters, Jade Colleen (now 22) and Bailey Coryn (now 21). Rick followed his three previous generations by having a long extensive career in the farming industry.
Rick was passionate about everything he did. Whether it be BBQing, racing RC cars, building a project in his shop or even a simple game of corn hole, Rick put his whole heart into all he did. He was very involved in sports his whole life. From being part of a well accomplished Little League All-Star team when he was young to being an amazing place kicker for Bakersfield High School and BC. He continued that passion for sports as an adult by helping run and being part of his church's softball team. Rick's passion for sports did not stop at just playing them. He was a very avid Dallas Cowboy and LA Dodger fan. If you knew Rick, you knew his love for these two teams.
Rick loved to be with his family. Whether it was a simple family BBQ, or a fishing trip with his dad and brother, he loved anything to do with his family. He was a true family man. Nothing made Rick happier than when his family would all come together.
Rick was a born-again Christian that is spending the rest of his eternity with Jesus. That is something his whole family if grateful for. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Rick is survived by his wife, Robyn, daughters, Jade and Bailey, brother, Brad, sister in law, Michelle, niece and nephew, Garrett and Austyn, father, Rick and wife Tracy plus numerous extended family and close friends. Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie, uncle, Jeff, grandparents, Bill and Mary Lou Greenlee, great grandmother, "Big Nan", grandparents, Mike and Barbara Blankenship, and aunt, Debbie Griswold.
A Memorial Service will be held at Valley Baptist Church 4800 Fruitvale Ave. Bakersfield, CA on Friday November 2, 2018 at 10:00am.
