Benjamin Day Obituary
Benjamin F. Day, 88, of Bakerstown died Tuesday at Loris Community Hospital in South Carolina.
Born Nov. 1, 1914, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Benjamin F. and Martha Maptson Day Sr.
He had been a locomotive engineer for USX Steel.
Surviving are three daughters, Trudy Martin of Longs, S.C., Dorothy Dambach of Evans City and Mary Argo of Greensburg; a son, John Day of Penn Hills; a sister Mary Gorski of Wilkes-Barre; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma McWhorter Day, and three sisters.
DAY - Friends of Benjamin F. Day, who died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. Burial will follow at Allegheny County
