Hello. David was a friend of mine in Columbus, Ohio and a great drummer and musician. I was terribly sad to hear of his death, and further more surprised because of the number of jazz musicians that have died in Columbus. His passing effected me deeply, and I will always remember him. My condolensces about your loss. Sincerely, Paul Reichle lll

I am very sad to hear this news. David was the most intense and deeply philosophical being I have ever come into contact with. He was tremendously knowing and courageous. He was also very supportive to me and others and really compassionate. I will always remember David Weinstock as a true poet, with a complex mind and a pure heart. David was passionate about things, and I will always hold on to the passions he conveyed in everything he did and talked about. These were a generous gift. And he never stopped giving of himself. Even though David has died young I feel like he lived a very long life. He seemed to be an old soul, as they say. I'm very sorry Mel. Jeremy Sigler

I knew him as a friend for a few years awhile back. He was one of the nicest, greatest people I have ever known. One heck of a jazz cat - dude could play. Remembering him from the way back - man it makes me smile. He made many smile and that is cool. Why Not?

Well said Karin, I agree. David Weinstock was a great friend to many in our class and he will surely be missed by all who knew him during MCD and beyond. It is obvious he has touched many in his journey. I remember numerous moments when he made us laugh, think, and smile, what a true gift. Yes, he had wisdom beyond his years, for sure, and thus he had a potent attraction to all that knew him. Tori, even though we may not know you, we are very sorry for your loss. Just know David was will remain in all that knew him forever.
