Edward Randolph Reinhardt, August 9, 1951 – December 27, 2021

Pastor Edward "Randy" Reinhardt, a USN Lieutenant passed away on 27 December 2021 after a six-month battle with Kidney Cancer at age 70. Randy was born on 09 August 1953 to Edward and Elizabeth (Helvestine) Reinhardt Jr. in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Seneca High School in Louisville, KY in 1969 and received an appointment to the Naval Academy that same year. Randy graduated from the USNA in June 1973 and was married that week to Linda High of Maryland. In 1979, Randy made the decision to leave the Navy and pursue a life of ministry. He attended Chesapeake Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree. Randy served as headmaster of Covenant Community School and became senior pastor of Covenant Community Church. In June 2000, the church merged with Living Water Fellowship (Pastor Fred Lessans) to become New Heritage Community. In addition to pastoring, Randy spent several decades teaching for CCS, Lamb of God School and in the last 10 years he cherished his time with the students and faculty at Chapelgate Christian Academy. Faith was Randy's anchor and he believed in living a life of serving others. His outreach extended beyond the local community and into countries such as Turkey, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Turkey. After the devastating tsunami in Indonesia, Randy led a team to support the people and help rebuild the community.

Randy is survived by his wife Linda of 48 years, his 5 children: Eric Reinhardt (Andrea), Michelle Crouch (Jeremy), Amy Reinhardt, Joy Strom (Justin), and Kyle Reinhardt; 3 grandchildren and 2 brothers Dana Reinhardt and Captain Gregory Reinhardt '79.

A small private service will be held on Thursday January 20th, 2022 at the U.S. Naval Academy. A public memorial Celebration of Life for Edward Reinhardt will be at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church, Saturday April 9th, 2022, from 1-5pm. The address is 2600 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104. The family requests, In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either The Randy Reinhardt Scholarship Fund at Chapelgate Christian Academy, or, Gilchrist At Howard County.
