John Copinger Obituary

COPINGER , John Christopher John CHRISTOPHER Copinger , born on December 12, 1958, President of Security Administration Services, Inc. Baltimore based security services firm, lost a 14 year battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma while resting at home on July 25, 2010. He assumed presidency of the company in May, 1995. Along time resident of Wilson Point he particularly enjoyed his waterfront home and boating. As a younger man he was an outstanding athlete and played semi professional football with both the Baltimore Bears and the Baltimore Eagles. When his competitive playing days were over he continued his life long interest in sports by coaching little league soccer, baseball, football and lacrosse. He last coached a youth lacrosse team in the spring of 2010. His awareness of his illness did not prevent him from participating in adult basketball games at a local school one night a week during the 2009/2010 season. In 2008 he married the former Vicki Simmons and he is survived by his wife, his son Cody Copinger and step-son Dylan Gover.
A memorial service will be held on a date to be announced in September. Contributions in lieu of flowers should be made in John's name to: The Lymphoma Research Foundation 115 Broadway, 13th floor New York, NY 10006 www.lymphoma.org Memory tributes may be sent to the family at

Memories and Condolences
for John Copinger

Not sure what to say?

August 12, 2010

I would like to extend my sincere condolences and warmest sympathies to John's Family. John seemed bigger than life. It is such an understatement, but there will be deep voids in the lives of many friends and family because of his absence. Thank God for memories. From football, the Mens Club, our days at Kenwood High, our class of 77 Reunions, to actually working for John, I am fortunate to have shared fantastic memories with and of John.
To Vickie, Cody, Dylan, Roger, Beau, Scott, and the entire Copinger family, I wish you strength and guidance during your time of loss and mourning.

If I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love. -Leo Buscaglia
