Mary Scudellari Ravitts

">RAVITTS, Mary Scudellari ">In her own words, "an unworthy servant of the Lord who received mercy", arrived in Heaven Tuesday morning, June 22, after a courageous year-long struggle with Adenoid-Cystic Carcinoma. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Ravitts of Columbia, MD, whom she married on Easter Sunday of 1979; by her daughter and son -in-law Annemarie and Anthony Martinez of Colorado; and by a grandchild soon to be born. A native of Long Island, Mrs. Ravitts was a visiting nurse and hospice volunteer with St. Agnes Healthcare of Baltimore. Previously, she was a family ombudsman for a U.S.Navy submarine to which her husband was assigned. Living in Illinois before Joseph entered the Navy, she helped found both a pro-life organization and a hospice group. And in Illinois today, one young man whom she prevented from being aborted is now a police officer. Friends may call at the family owned Slack Funeral Home, P.A. 3871 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, (Rt. 108), Clarksville MD, on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Louis Cemetery.
